5 Free things to do in Singapore!

We all know Singapore is an expensive city as compared to the other South East Asian counterparts. Think you can't fit Singapore in your budget? Fret not because i'm about to reveal some of the things you can do for free in the little red dot!

1. Get an Aerial View of Singapore 
You don't have to take the Singapore Flyer and observe the same beautiful scenery for 30 minutes that could cost you $33! Trust me, that price comes as a shock to me too. Instead, you can head down to Ion Orchard at Orchard Road and head to Ion Sky at Level 56. 218 metres into the clouds, enjoy a 360 view of Singapore for free. Yup, you read that right. Admission is free. Public acess to ION Sky is from 3pm - 6pm daily. Last entry at 5:30pm. Nearest MRT Station: Orchard MRT

Another view will be at Orchard Central Roof Garden, less crowded and not so popular. No admission fee and it is an outdoor area. Take the escalator from outside the building that leads you all the way up. Nearest MRT: Somerset Station

2. Marina Bay Sand's Light & Water Show
Somewhat similar to Hong Kong's Symphony of Lights. Watch the coolest combination of Light, Water, Music, Sound and even Fire to create a beautiful show that leaves one to remember. The MBS Light & Water Show is absolutely free. Everyone gathers at the Event Plaza at the Promenade at Marina Bay Sands located near to the river. Show times from Sunday to Friday: 8pm & 9:30pm. Friday and Saturday an additional time slot at 11pm.

3. Gardens By The Bay Garden Rhapsody
Another amazing light show that shouldn't be missed. The Garden Rhapsody light and sound show takes place in the heart of Gardens By The Bay 's Super Trees. At night, it lights up and twinkled to the beats of the music played. You can head to Gardens By The Bay right after you watch the Light and Water Show in MBS. There is a connecting bridge that leads you to Gardens By The Bay. Showtimes at 7:45pm and 8:45pm daily all year around.

4. Merlion Park
Visit the iconic Merlion which is a part fish part lion creature that represents the country. Everyone that come to snap a photo here will surely do a few strange poses! A great place to people watch.Put on your walking shoes and go stroll to Merlion Park. Amazing view day and night with the postcard skyline right behind.

5. Gallivant around Haji Lane/ Kampong Glam

Go gallivanting around Haji Lane/Kampong Glam. This small area has a lot of things going on. The famous Sultan Mosque that was featured in Murad Osman instagram to hipster cafes and pubs to chill out and even hidden street art. If you walk far enough, you will discover the Malay Heritage Center that shows the history of the  Malay Settlement here. Nearest MRT station: Bugis Station
